Benjakitti Forest Park
Nestled in the city of Bangkok lies an oasis of nature: Benjakitti Forest Park!
Escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok in Benjakitti Park (also known as Benchakitti Park). This 180-acre park is one of Bangkok’s most beautiful parks, completely free to visit!
Benjakitti Park was once part of Thailand’s Tobacco Authority. As you enter from Ratchadaphisek Road, towering high-rise buildings will surround your view for a few minutes before giving way to the tranquil beauty that awaits inside – only five minutes away via footpaths!
With an abundance of flora and fauna, this idyllic park offers visitors a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Its skywalks are not to be missed, stretching nearly two kilometers and offering stunning views of wetlands dotted with mounds of earth forming unique little islands.
Take the separate walking trail at ground level if you’d like a closer look! The paths on both levels lead in unpredictable directions, making it fun to get lost as you explore your surroundings.
With its abundance of trees and mangroves, it can be hard to believe you’re still within one of the world’s largest cities. Comparable to Central Park in New York City, Benjakitti Forest Park is an incredible urban green space for exploration that often goes unnoticed.
The Benchakitti Forest Park is managed by Bangkok City Hall and features mature rain trees and young teak trees that provide a beautiful backdrop to the many planted saplings of various species from local forests.
Benjakitti Park is conveniently located in the Asoke area of Bangkok, 5 minutes away from both Terminal 21 shopping center and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
If you’re looking to get there via public transport, Asok BTS station, Sukhumvit MRT or Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT Station are your best options!
For the pedestrian’s and cyclist’s convenience, Benjakitti Park is accessible from Lumpini Park by the ‘high line,’ an elevated walking and cycling route spanning just over 1km. This alternate path bypasses any hectic roads or traffic you may experience on your travels.
